a different kind of christmas

So, I know it's only the second of November, but in every store and restaurant I walk into there are hints of Christmas being upon us. Starbucks has their holiday cups. Walmart has up their Christmas decorations. I just got a bazillion holiday catalogs in the mail. This past week at church we watched this video:

It really got me thinking. The statistics in it are staggering really. I want new clothes, stuff for the house, and just things when so many people around the world are needing a place to sleep and food in their belly. So this Christmas season, I'm committing to loving others in a different way. I'm going to love with my time instead of my money, and in turn sending that money to people who are dying for clean water and someone to love them. Join us in making a difference and loving and giving to people who need things that are far more important than the latest boots or iphone. Join me!

Absolutely think this is an awesome opportunity for us all. Thanks for the quick reminder since I wasn't at church this Sunday!

Great idea! The STUFF is only stuff. Sometimes we (I) need to realize what is important.

love this Kat! our church did this series a couple years ago, and harkens back to it in some capacity every season. It's an awesome reminder and puts things in perspective.

I also posted on it after a sermon - http://ambiguityandwildhope.blogspot.com/2008/12/good-tidings-of-great-joy.html I'm kinda loving all these ways this small world keeps reminding me of you, glad to read things are going well!
