winter storm

The weekend before Christmas Philly was hit hard with a crazy snowstorm. We went to bed Friday night with no snow and woke up to about 4 inches on the ground! It continued to snow really hard all day and we ended up getting over a foot of snow!!! We were actually on the outer edge of the snowstorm with parts of Philadelphia receiving over 2 feet of snow!

Aaron and I love snow and operate on the policy that if it's going to be cold that there should be snow on the ground :) So, needless to say, Aaron and I were really excited with all the snow. The dogs both love the snow too and we took them out Sunday to play in it. Sadly, the snow didn't stick around for Christmas, but we enjoyed it while it lasted! Here are some pictures of our first snowstorm of the winter and the dogs (obviously) loving it :)

thankful

Last Sunday was the soccer banquet for the Downingtown East girls soccer team that I helped coach this fall. My favorite thing about coaching was the players. They were crazy and funny with so many personalities. It was a fun season and the girls played great. We won the District 1 playoffs and beat their major rival Downingtown West to win the title! At the banquet, they gave me a HUGE basket full of cute baby stuff. I am so thankful for the opportunity to coach and especially to coach such a great group of girls. Here are all the great things they got me including their favorite which was the shirt that said "my mom is hot" haha and Aaron's favorite- the "spit happens" bib :)

She's not fat... she's pregnant

Being pregnant has had it's funny moments. People really say the craziest things... just last week a student made a comment about the end of the year and I said "well Brendan, I won't be here" and he said why? Then somehow at 26 weeks pregnant I shocked him by telling him that I was pregnant?! I said "well Brendan, did you think I swallowed a soccer ball?" haha he must've thought so! Over Thanksgiving, we met our friends Steve and Helene Norris for coffee and Steve proceeded to introduce me to his brother as "not fat, just pregnant" haha A woman that I work with actually made 3 comments in one day about my growing bump! I don't really mind the comments, and they always make for funny stories later ;)

I did want to add some pictures of my growing bump for my friends and family that live far away that haven't seen me in the past few months. So here is your baby bump update:

Halloween

Aaron and I have been (what seems like) non-stop busy for the last 3 years. Because of this, we always miss our friends annual Halloween party. This year we finally were able to make it and got excited about brainstorming some costumes. Since I'm pregnant, we had a few less options, we decided to use the pregnancy for a costume idea. We decided on the lead roles from the movie JUNO. I dressed up as Juno MacDuff and Aaron was Paulie Bleeker. We got pretty close to looking like them (you can compare for yourself with the movie covor) haha we had a great time and were glad we could finally celebrate with friends!

here are a few pictures of our Halloween:

CAUTION: You are about to see a whole lot of my husband's thighs ;) haha

fall fun

Last year at this time, I found this hilarious dog costume at Goodwill and thought for 99 cents I'd try to fit Marley into it... he didn't love it. haha I just found the dog costume while organizing a closet and decided to torture Kai with it before I sent it back to goodwill ;) I sure am glad these dogs love me and put up with my harassment :)

it's official... make that 3 windles...

On March 8, Aaron and I are due to have our first baby! We are so excited about our little one and can't wait for his/her arrival. Who am I kidding- Aaron is rooting boy all the way ;) Either way we are so thankful for God's amazing blessing to us and can't wait to share in the journey with our friends and family.

crazy, busy summer (june)

It seems like from the very day I got out of school in the end of June, Aaron and I have been running. Every weekend in July and August spoken for, vacations, grad classes, weddings, and church softball. We've had a very full summer, but have had plenty of fun too.

The last week in June we went on vacation with my beloved college roommate Natalie and her husband Josh. We went to the jersey shore and had more than our share of fun! They are such awesome friends- funny and laid back and it made vacation perfect! Nat and I did all the things together that the guys weren't interested in like biking on the boardwalk and getting up to see the sun rise. We gorged ourselves on all you can eat crabs, 28 inch pizzas, and of course (per Nat's request) ice cream every night :) It was precious time with friends that we don't get to spend nearly enough time with!

crazy, busy summer (july)

We attended 3 (yes, 3!) weddings in the month of July. The fourth of July was spent celebrating Lauren and Nathan Eakin's wedding, the following weekend we roadtripped it out to Indiana University to celebrate with Nate and Amber Todd, and made our way to Scranton, PA the end of July for my great friend and fellow teacher Sara Lucarella's wedding. We are so excited for all of them and love them to death :)

July was also spent traveling all over the eastern United States. Aaron went to his college roommate Tommy's bachelor party in West Virginia, I traveled to Pittsburgh to celebrate my great friend Amy's bachelorette party, and I also went to Deep Creek, Maryland to reunite with my fellow Geneva Women's Soccer alumni.

July also brought my nephews and sister to the eastern part of the state to hang out. We went swimming, watched "untle awin's" softball games, and went to the please touch museum in Philly. We had a fun week and miss the boys like always!

crazy, busy summer (august)

August was full of vacations... we went to Canada with Aaron's family. We had some great weather and enjoyed our time up there as usual. It was really nice seeing our Kewley cousins since they live in Virginia and Oklahoma! The dogs loved being in Canada because they were allowed off leash and were able to roam where they wanted. It was awesome just seeing them be dogs and made us feel bad when we had to leash them after we left! We left Canada a few days early and headed to my parent's cottage in Tionesta, PA. We were there during the Indian Festival and got to go to the parade and of course golfing. We feel so blessed to have such incredible families and cherish our time spent with them!

The end of August has brought soccer season and the start of rugby for Aaron. Soccer has been fun and exhausting. I am enjoying the opportunity to coach- it reminds me how much I miss soccer and playing! We also purchased an SUV!!! We bought a Honda Pilot and are loving all of the room, as opposed to our 2 little sedans. I know, I know, it's not very earth friendly, but I figure having a hybrid balances it out ;)

our new car!

After such a crazy, busy summer I feel more tired than refreshed, but it's okay because we had so much fun in all of it! I keep thinking that maybe, just maybe, life will slow down sometime soon :)
